Monday Meditation: WSDT Casebook
December 3, 2007 – 5:35 pm by: Jon VossThe State Tournament is fast-approaching; as in years past, I’ll be encouraging qualified teams to contribute to the WSDT Casebook 2k7. This year, I’ll be compiling Affirmative and Negative versions of the casebook; teams may contribute whatever information they feel comfortable disclosing. Teams will only receive the casebooks to which they contribute. More information is available below the fold.
Please direct all questions and send all outlines to consult.australia@gmail.com
Starting Tuesday, December 4th, I will send out an updated version of the casebook each day leading up to the tournament.
All outlines, affirmative, and negative, should include:
–the tag you read
–the author and year
–full citation and qualifications
–first and last sentence you read
For Example:
Whattameal vital to prevent extinction
Batterman ‘7

[I ordered the meal at the counter...didn't ask for pickels but enjoyed them anyway]
Generally, disclosure ensures better debate; the best arguments are made and the most clash occurs when teams are able to predict the issues that will be discussed. Periodically throught the week, I will update this post with a running list of contributors.
See you all at State!

on another note…. is it perhaps possible to do this for LD?

Someone could do it for LD, but I really don’t have the time to coordinate it. In the past, I know that students have put these together themselves. Otherwise, perhaps talk to your coach(es).
