Live from Las Vegas… Thursday at NFL Nationals 2008

June 19, 2008 – 9:10 am by: Nick Bubb

Thursday is the make or break day for contestants still in main event, supplemental, or consolation events. By the end of the day, one will have either made a final round or not. Later tonight, the finals of HI, DI, and Duo will be preformed at the Cox Pavillion at the UNLV campus with the remaining events going on Friday. Here’s a list of the Wisconsin folks still in the hunt for a National Championship:

  • James Madison Memorial has Matt Scales, Chris Tate, and Sarah Arbaje still in Prose and Poetry after round 5 (~top 75).
  • Appleton East has three contestants still in Prose after round 5(~top 75).
  • Kristen Wisniewski has advanced to round 5 in Extemp Commentary (~top 75).
  • Numerous people are still competing in Storytelling or Impromptu

Good luck to all of those competing today. Remember, there’s more than one way to make a final round.

Bethany Zeitler from Algoma is in the semifinals of Storytelling. Brookfield East’s freshmen in HI was in the quarterfinals of storytelling (I forget his name).

Chris Tate of James Madison Memorial made the quarterfinals of poetry.

  3. Hello,

Kyle Krueger dropped after quarters in HI.
Jenna Huebner is in Finals of Prose tomorrow! She survived thru 9 grueling rounds of Prose, which began with about 430 contestants.

  4. Correction to the 1st note:

Kirsten Wisniewski made it through round six in Expository - not extemp commentary.
