Wisconsin Forensics Daily 2.0

Posted on April 4, 2008 – 11:58 am by: Nick Bubb

I sent this message out to just about everyone in my contact book, but I’m certain I forgot some people. In case I did, here’s the full message:

Friends in Forensics and Debate,

I know this list is far from a complete listing of those that compete in forensics and debate in Wisconsin, so please help me in forwarding this message to those who I have left out. Three years ago I had an idea to develop an independent website to help bring the Wisconsin forensics and debate community together. Later that fall we launched our first website and began the work of collaborating to improve debate and forensics in Wisconsin.

Today we have completed a massive overhaul of the design and technological systems of that website. On this occasion, I want to renew the call of Wisconsin Forensics Daily’s mission. We seek to create a community that can collaborate to improve debate and forensics in Wisconsin, without being limited by ideological, geographic, or financial barriers. Please join us in our constant discussions and come celebrate the success of our students.

Thank you,

Nick Bubb

Face Lift Impending

Posted on March 3, 2008 – 8:05 pm by: Nick Bubb

Wisconsin Forensics Daily is getting a major facelift this week. The management is working upgrading the Wordpress engine to the most current version and introducing a better style. The changes won’t go live on the site until we are complete. Until then, this old dinosaur will keep working.

UPDATE: major problem solved

While the forensics season is heating up, so is the world of college basketball. If you’re a fan of the NCAA Basketball Championship, then this is for you: the WFD Hoops Challenge Round Two.

In keeping with last year’s tradition, Wisconsin Forensics Daily presents a free Final Four Challenge at Yahoo! It’s free to join, and is fun to play. Anyone can join, and all it takes is a Yahoo! id (which is also free). We invite everyone - judges, coaches, and competitors to join in on the fun. Show off your college basketball knowledge and establish bragging rights.

To join go to: http://tournament.fantasysports.yahoo.com/men and create a bracket. Once there, make sure you join the WFD Custom Group - information necessary to do this is enclosed below.

Yahoo Group Name: Wisconsin Forensics Daily
Yahoo Group ID#: 80876
Yahoo Group Password: speechgeek

As with last year, the winner will be showered with praise as the Wisconsin Forensics World’s Basketball Guru. And the winner will also be posted right here, on WFD. Let the Madness Begin!

Massive Picture Update

Posted on November 25, 2006 – 12:45 pm by: Nick Bubb

Wisconsin Forensics Daily has just updated its picture log for this season. We’ve now added Albums for LaCrosse, Hortonville, The Glenbrooks, Sheboygan North, and the Marquette University Parliamentary tournament. We will have many, many more photos to come with Appleton East and the State Tournament right around the corner. There will also be two new features debuting in the next few weeks. One is a surprise (or at least I’m not sure I’m supposed to share the idea) and the other is a trivia challenge.

Here’s our schedule for this week. The Appleton East (Traas’) Trivia challenge will be coming on Monday in place of the Monday Meditation. On Tuesday will have a full update to the number of teams participating in the Challenge divisions at Appleton East, as well as a corresponding update to the AE Caselist. On Wednesday we should have some kind of word about the new feature. And on Thursday we’ll have a new Thursday Thing to Read. Friday we will have updated pairings from Appleton East - but - unfortionately we will not be live because of technological limitations.

Anyway: Here’s a taste of what you can find in brand new albums.
